In State League Hockey, Ballarat beats Old Carey 7 – 1 in the cold, wet conditions.

In very cold, wet conditions, Ballarat defeated Old Carey 7 – 1.  In the opening minutes of the game, Ballarat had all the opportunities with Jeremy Bourke scoring the first goal and Rich Ford, the second goal of the game.  Old Carey fought back, but Ballarat’s defence held firm.  Ballarat had 5 short corners but failed to score.  Ballarat went into the half time break with a 2 – 0 lead.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Ballarat went on a scoring spree, with Rich Ford scoring his second, Lincoln Stephen scored two goals, Duncan Stephen scoring one goal and Jason Hargreaves scoring one goal.  Late in the game Old Carey scored a goal against the run of play.  Ballarat winning 7 – 1.
