Umpiring Information
If an umpire is not named on the fixture by Hockey Ballarat, clubs will be required to provide an umpire to the games where their club is named.
It is the responsibility of the CLUBS to:
· Provide an appropriate umpire for scheduled games
· Provide support/training to umpires with limited experience
· Negotiate with other clubs if they are unable to provide an appropriate umpire, to ensure an umpire is present
· Ensure all umpires have a whistle and set of cards when umpiring
· Liaise with Hockey Ballarat to identify people who wish to be rostered to umpire on behalf of Hockey Ballarat (as an individual)
· Liaise with Hockey Ballarat to identify interested people who wish to be coached as umpires, and/or be involved in the ‘badging’ process
It is the responsibility of Hockey Ballarat to:
· Maintain a list of umpires and distribute this list through the club delegates and Hockey Ballarat website
· Organise umpire coaching and support
· Liaise with Hockey Victoria Regional Umpiring Coaches
